The movement of families using alternative modes of transportation is growing exponentially. Look outside on a weekday and you'll see families of all backgrounds using bikes to get to their morning and afternoon destinations. Families who use bikes as their primary means of transportation, mirror the demographics of San Francisco. It's been a labor of love for many families to transition to this type of transportation. We take joy in the journey reaching our destination.
Geographically speaking, the Richmond District is an absolute perfect place to ride a bike for recreation and/or everyday transportation. It contains numerous schools, places of worship, business corridors and is surrounded by two parks and the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, there is not adequate infrastructure for all residents to support this mode shift. We continue to ask: why are there still no fully protected bike lanes in District 1?
